Michael Dotson
Welcome

Hard hitting Chicago blues with a traditional bent to it

Michael Dotson plays high energy Chicago style houserockin' blues, a rootsy and raw blend of shuffles and boogies underpinned by tradition and loaded with fire eating guitar.  He has been out on his own for eight years after spending over twenty years as a fixture on the Chicago blues scene playing guitar for world renowned blues artists.

He released his second album "A fork in the road" on the Backstage promotions label in the fall of 2010, a traditional solo effort ... a man wearing a hat, sitting in a chair, playing guitar and singing the blues, that features eleven original songs many of them in a boogie vein.

His first album "Lightnin in my pocket" was released in 2006 on the Gritty City Music label, a veritable blues sampler of ten original songs spanning several sub-genres of blues including swamp slide, primitive swing, and traditional blues all delivered in an energetic guitar laden fashion.

In 2010 he completed his first solo South American tour playing in Brazil and Argentina. He also did his fourth tour of Holland with side trips to Germany and Belgium.
